Yah,"little" as in as small as Lancelot's foot!

Shelby has flown out of Ike's pen twice today so she is back in the dog crate. Beth is coming to get her this weekend.

Smoky has had lots of crop massage. She did poop some semi solid stuff so something is getting through, probably whatever Tom is pushing into the hole at the back of the crop. We'll try massage, but if it doesn't work, surgery is forthcoming.

ETA: Tiny got another thrashing by June this evening. Almost as soon as we put Tiny inside the coop door, she went up the roost and actually flew up at DH, who was standing at the door to go back out, and was subsequently pecked by my EE, June, then chased out of the room. June then went up the roost to settle down for the night by Isaac. When Tiny came back in, June got down off the roost, pushed her into a corner and was whooping up on her but good! Go, June! She won't abide Tiny flogging her daddy, no way! As we were leaving, Tiny was heading back to the doorway and June stood up and scooted over to the edge of the roost, ready to jump to our defense again and we left so she wouldn't have to keep the ruckus going. That is one good girl, my June.

That Terrorist does not learn does she? Silly girl. Well the tall boy decided to run across the yard and challenge Lancelot while Atlas stayed right between my feet...ummmmm little Son of Suede did not fair well. He got thunked good and then chased all over the yard. Atlas on the other hand was standing between my feet watching his brother scream like a sissy girl chicken and run like hell from Lancelot....I swear he had this look on his face that screamed "You are so alone brother idiot!" as his head turned this way and that watching his brother run from Lancelot.

I should tell you all, even though not Delaware related, that my blue daughter of Dusty and Suede died last evening. On Thursday morning when Cyn went to let them out, Isis was hurt, an apparent hock injury that we suspected was caused from her two rough housing brothers. Cyn figured they bowled her over sparring. Well Cyn gave her specialized care and I brought her home with me on Sunday. Cyn was worried about her on Saturday because she was holding her wings away from her body and hanging them low. She just was not acting right. She came home with me on Sunday, she and Zena in one half of a dog crate and the two boys in the other half. Well she was eating and drinking on her own and doing well. So well that I let her go outside for a little bit with Zena in the grass. She was enjoying the sunshine, scrambled eggs, raspberry applesauce and she was walking, slightly limping but still holding her wings a little low. The funny thing was she was walking in my livingroom to me and talking sweetly to me. She and Zena had walked to the side of the crate and were getting scratches under their beaks when Isis suddenly threw herself onto her back, kicked once and I grabbed her out and called Cyn with my other hand. Before Cyn could answer the phone (2 rings) and say Hello, my Isis had put her head back onto her back and died in my arms. I never even got to tell Cyn what was happening before Isis was gone.

Isis was my beautiful daughter of Dusty but Cyn and I believe the boys caused internal injuries as well as her hock injury by either roughly trying to mate her or bowling her over sparring. I am so sad but also happy for Isis because her last day alive she was enjoying life, goodies and her new home and wow did that girl love her raspberry applesauce.

RIP Isis, my beautiful girl. But that is why I have not spoken much about my orp babies today and I thought I owed everyone and explanation.

So sorry to hear that LH! Isis love the name - strong godess name - that breaks my heart

I have not had any issues as of late but the upcoming winter scares me - its the extremes of weather that seem to cause issue .

We're both crushed by her passing. All we can figure is that there was some internal injury that we couldn't see, something worse than her leg. There was nothing we could see to fix, of course, but we both feel shell shocked by her sudden death. She was perfectly healthy and happy up until that morning when I opened the broody cage and she stood up and was limping. I'm 100% positive that her brothers caused it with their incessant sparring and/or the bigger one already grabbing head feathers to mate as he was doing to Zena on Saturday.

LH, I'm so sorry to hear about Isis.

Though I'm glad that her final days were with you and Chy and being treated like the royal goddess for whom she was named.

Hunting season, for me at least, is nearly over. This morning will be my last hunt with DH until late November.

Step son and the animated lump of meat that he calls his wife will be arriving late tonight. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Those of you who know me well, also know why I despise that woman. For those of you who are new to the story, let's just say I'd rather face full on root canal without benefit of anesthesia, than to deal with HER!

Well, gotta go open pop doors and set my babies up for the morning....then it's off to look for Mr. Elusive Bucksnort! Hope y'all have a wonderful day!

As I am on the road I will ask Cyn to post a pic of Isis here, she was stunning. A little secret ... Isis had yellow skin. LOL. She was perfect!
