Cyn he is a cutie!!!

Kathy I was so hoping that Nella would chick nap those Chocolates and bring them to me, lmao

BTW have any of you ever had a Juvenile Rooster who wants to jump on your back??? Big Red has started flying from the top of the coop and tries to land on my back. He has accomplished this once. When he is on the ground he is constantly staring up at me and trying to jump. I cant figure out what he thinks hes doing. There is no pecking or flogging involved. I have to stop and pick him up and carry him around so he will stop while i'm in the coop. It freaks me out, lol.

I don't know, Brandon. That would be unnerving, wouldn't it? Once had a very weird BR cockerel. He was really skittish and nutzoid, but on occasion would suddenly fly to my shoulder when he got scared-and he was really big at the time, too. He was never right in the head, that boy. Eventually, he did become aggressive, unlike most all other of Hawkeye's sons, but then, he was odd from the get-go.

He is the full brother to LH's Chewey. He isnt skittish even though Jack has been whipping his butt daily, lol He is as big as Jack but since I put him in with Jack and the girls he has been trying this. Just out of the blue. He lets me pick him up easily and carry him around so I can get chores done. Im not scared im just afraid he will put my eyes out accidentally if he doesnt make it up on my back, lol

He wants comfort since he is getting his butt kicked all day by Jack. Just pick him up and carry him around telling him how manly he still is, rub his chest and let him know it is okay. Poor guy needs love. I can tell you his SISTER is not that way. But she is eating out of my hand, she has decided since Lancelot will do it and the mean ole Delilah that she is safe to do so too. Hahahaha. Becca is a mess that one but Leaya, she is a do her own thing kinda gal and you forget that hand stuff!

I gotta get some sleep, have to be up and in the barn at 7:00 to get Diva Do fed, pampered and proper homage paid. That is the latest she will let me sleep before the loud squealing begins. Hahahahaha. OMG she was in a tizzy at 6:00 last night

. I walked down to the barn to tell DH dinner was done and she came to the fence for a nose rub and as I walked into the barn she decided "Oh it is Feed and Homage time" and she raced up the hill, tail up and flying and came into the barn aisle full speed (she loves the theatrics), skidding to a halt and I was leaving the barn. Holy Cow Batman! She pranced, half reared, nickered, squealed and then pitched a hoof pawing fit when I said "Not yet....7:00 is dinnertime". Oh she reared and pawed and snorted and squealed .... so I gave her two cookies and told her "7:00 Missy, I will be back". She still had attitude even after getting cookies before dinner.

I am totally wiped out, but it was a great event!!! If I can show, anyone can show! And thanks for the congrats, but honestly, there were only three Dels there, although the third one was the bird that won best of breed at nationals last year. So even though I didn't beat very many birds, I beat a good one.

Yes, I have a project bird that loves to jump on my back and shoulders, Brandon. It elevates him to the status of head roo assistant in his little pea brain.

Isn't it awesome Kathy won those choc Orps? I think we are all in line for some.

LH, I hope you get more duckies and just simply ask Bill what it is he wants to do. Sounds like true love or a major butter-up. Is hunting season coming up or something?

JK, BIll is a sweetie, and you deserve every bit of what he is helping you get!

KAAATTTHHYYY!!!!! HELP! [she's so good at finding such things!]

OK, enough rambling, right? Right! Sorry, it happens when I get behind the eight ball like this. I don't know whether to poop or go blind, sometimes!!

Cyn, I am sooooo sorry to hear about Smokey. I had so hoped to hear that she had made.

Poor little darling. But I know you did everything humanly possible for her.

Sometimes, all we can really do is make them comfortable and let them know they are loved. I'm sure you did exactly that with abandon!

LH, you and that Diva!

I love your stories! Keep 'em coming. And good luck on your closing!

Oh! And I love that picture of Chewey! What a lovely little girl! I really like her patterning!

Brandon, ditto on what LH said regarding your little man there. Cuddle the beejeebers out of him. He's just nervous about getting a daily dose of having his butt handed to him by Jack.

If it gives you any measure of peace of mind, know that my awesome boy Chief, fully grown, still gets up on my back to perch on my shoulder. I absolutely adore him when he does this!
love.gif
It means that he wants some quality Chief/Mama time and doesn't want to wait until bedtime to get it!

Cherish those moments, sweetie! So few roosters display that kind of attachment to a human. Exploit the opportunity to its fullest to forge that kind of relationship with your little guy. You''ll never regret it!

Kathy, love the pictures from the show! Looks like y'all had a great time!! MORE PLEASE!!!! And congrats on the winning of the raffle! It's gonna be fun to see what you do with them!

And for those of you who wonder what I'm like if I don't get my three cups of tea in the morning.......

Does that answer your question?!?

It was great meeting you as well! I had a lot of fun and learned a lot too! I enjoyed getting to meet Walt and learn from him!

I haven't been able to spend much time in my run since I got back...but I am looking forward to looking at my dels with a new eye!

Beth, yeah he is just spoiling me for some reason hunting season is in full swing here, this morning the big ole buck everyone is hunting for around here was sucked behind my coop standing there hiding out until the 4 wheelers were long off before he came out and went off behind our house. I was out there laughing because I went into the coop and he just sort of looked at me like "Morning madame just using the coop as cover if you do not mind", I chuckled and said "Big man hang out as long as you want to but the chickens are coming out, good luck to you". He has no fear of me because I well I do not bother him and let him tuck up behind the coop on on my back porch to avoid the hunters. Yesterday he had his herd under the back deck, 5 doe and several babies and him waiting for the hunters to go down the road on the quads. Hahahaha. Sometimes they go into the barn and visit with Jo while the hunters are driving around. They crack me up and I see hunting as a skill and art of tracking and patience. So when the deer outsmart these silly men with their scopes and lazy hunting crap it cracks me up.

No offense Amy, you are not that type of hunter and neither is Scott but you know the type I am talking about. Plus I feed the deer on the trail behind my house where they are safe. Hehehehehe

My Diva Do is a mess. But in all fairness she was rotten when she arrived, she merely trained us to provide and supply as she deemed correct for her Diva status. Yes that is my story and I am stickin to it. Now, I must cut up her carrots and take them to her because I promised after the closing she could have some to celebrate. For Thanksgiving she is getting a pumpkin hallowed out and filled with sweet feed, carrots, apples and oats for her to enjoy but I am being a meanie and putting the top back on it first so she has to work for the goodies.
lol.png
And I am not making her fat merely plumping her waistline!
