Thanks, Kathy! And the project is not so huge, you get sick of it before it's done, either. You'll recognize some fabrics in there that you sent me, I bet. Wynette loved the one I made for her, which was this one, in colors she said she likes together (the binding was just pinned on the backside in the pic, which is why it looks wrinkled). The overhang on the blue and red one is longer than on Wynette's:

Ohhhh, yes! I love that one! I always liked that pretty border fabric there!

That is one of the favorite fabrics you ever sent me, Kathy! I just love it with all the subtle beige, tan, taupe, blues, etc, in it. It was absolutely perfect for the border of Wynette's bed runner.

ETA: LH, Rufus and Rusty are in the broody pen under Zane, next to Suede. They are crowing their hearts out, LOL. At least, that will give Shadow and the other little girls in the bantam coop a break from multiple assaults.

Just went out to check on the D'Anvers and Miss Shadow and Sunny. Was quite nice to walk in there and not have a flogging chicken nugget at each ankle. Aubrey and Angus are so much better behaved! It's pouring rain (again, sheesh) and at least, Shadow won't be locked inside with four little amorous louts.

I removed part of the barrier between the broody pen and Suede's side so the little goofs can be intimidated by the big blue rooster, whose feet are as large as their entire bodies, LOL. Rusty is too stupid to be intimidated, though, I think.

Thank you, Laura. Really, on the red and blue one, I more or less followed the instructions and picked fabrics as close to the ones in the book as I had in my stash. I have very few reds, as that is my least favorite color. I gravitate toward greens and lavenders most of the time and I have to pull myself away from those on purpose or all my stuff would look alike, LOL.
I do, however, love fall colors and I think I'm going to try for something with greens, browns, rusts, golds and creams for the next one. I don't have a piece of batting large enough to do this latest bed runner, only misc pieces and one queen size one that I'm saving for the next bed quilt I have planned so will have to wait till payday to buy batting. I hate piecing batting in a project or I'd do that. Not sure when I'll start on that bed quilt. Really need to sell some small stuff to save enough $$ for my new range.

Cyn, those bed runners are positively to die for!

It is my hope, someday, when this dang house is DONE, to be able to sit down to my two sewing machines and create something even half as beautiful as your work! I love the heart pattern quilting you did on the one for Wynette.

How do you do that, and keep them so perfect? Do you have a template to do so? Some kind of guide for your sewing machine? Right now, I'm working with a wonderful old Singer 301 that had belonged to my grandmother and then my mother. [she'd really like to have that machine back someday.

] Also, I have a newer, albeit still an 18 year old Singer, model number escapes me at the moment. But I know I can get the "embroidery" foot for it. At least they made one for it at one time. I should be able to find one somewhere, I should think. So, right now, doing machine quilting is a bit of a bear to do. Any suggestions on what might make it easier for me to do so, with either of my machines? Dang, how I wish you, Kathy and Laura were closer to me, Cyn. I'd be pickin' your brains left, right and center on quilting and just sewing in general! Actually, y'all are probably very fortunate to be living so far from me. I could really make a pest of myself otherwise!

Well, I hear Chief and the gang calling my name. Sounds like Denny must have opened the doors for them. What a guy! We're gonna be windy and sunny here for most of the day. Hope everyone has a great day! Take care......later taters!

Side note: Where the heck is Jeff? I haven't seen him post in a long time. Hope he's doing OK.

It wouldn't take long to pick my brains
