See my little co-broodies?
Kaaaaattthhhhyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck is up with Maggie?!?!....... picture this........![]()
Usually, Maggie is sweet and demure, never gets under foot, goes about her business in a totally non-intrusive way, pretty much keeps to herself and associates almost exclusively with her daughter Cossette.
But today....OMG! Today, that girl would NOT take no for an answer! Right in the middle of my daily chicken chores, she comes up to me and positively insisted on being picked up and cuddled! She stands there and pecks at the back of my leg until I drop what I'm doing and pick her up. It's not enough just to reach down and pet her. Oh no! And this is not an isolated incidence. She's been doing this for nearly a week now. Almost every day, she wants loving and she wants it right now!!!! If I'm out in the yard, she comes running over. Not for treats, but for loving. What the heck is up with this girl?!?! Is she about to go broody on me?!?!?
Don't get me wrong. I love the fact that she's being such a little snuggle bug. But it does have me wondering what's going on in that cute fuzzy li'l head of hers!Any ideas?
Oh, and guess who I found in the unused duplex coop tonight at lock up? Cossette! Acting all broody, even though there wasn't a single egg to be found anywhere in the duplex. I've got the sneaking suspicion that those two girls are about to go off the deep end on me!![]()
Yesterday i had let the bantam rocks out to free range. i am at the kitchen table - i hear an odd tapping at the sliding door tothe back deck . Yes lil miss Pippa ( bantam rock) was tapping at the door loooking for a treat - opened it gave her a bit of bread and she waddled her cute self back to her coop! That is the bantam tude i love!
Maybe she needs a man.![]()
