Amy, she does have a gift for sure because that boy just went gaga for her. Yesterday when she got up, the first thing she did was walk to the main coop and call out "Isaac my buddy" and that boy popped his head down under the coop so he could see her and then walked out from under the coop and went straight to the gate and stood there patiently looking up at her and waiting for her to come in and love on him. So, she picked him up and they got in some hammock time before breakfast. She loved on the Tiny Terrorist before we left, and she wanted to bring that little menace home with her.
The same chicken that will attack anything entering the coop after dark, let her love on her. An hour before that the terrorist attack Cyn and had a battle with me at the coop door. She would bite me and I would shove her back saying "Stop" she would bite and I would shove and on and on. ack
She and I are playing nurse to The Sumo Kung Fu chicken who, seeing the opportunity of me not being here, decided to attack the male partridge silkie who is in a dog crate in the main coop. She got her toes and spur caught on the wire of the crate and was hanging there when DH rescued her....she has apparently broken her outside toe on her left foot and is in the house. DH did well without me here but he has gladly dropped the chicken care back into my lap and I think DeDe is relieved a bit too. She is not one for being snuggled and handled ... especially by some man HEAVEN FORBID! So far the broken toe and a possible sprained leg is all I can find as far as injury but time will tell. She was given half a baby aspirin and some vitamins last night, cleaned up and forced to move a bit. I made her get off her big butt and I flexed her leg and hip and will do so three or so times each day. I do not want her getting stiff or constantly lying down on her chest in a tote but she is confined so she cannot move around a whole lot so she has some healing time. So say a prayer for my Sumo chicken ladies because I do not want anything to happen to her. She may be an old meanie but she is my meanie and I love her.
My babies grew like ragweed in the 4 days I was gone...sheesh they are toerags .... 4 days of running amuck with no discipline and the troops have gotten out of hand I tell you. I have 3 silkie babies...2 hatched that did not survive so Mrs. Fluffy and Jet are co-mothering 3 baby silkies.
Here is a video looking around Cyn's place...and yes I am constantly confusing Ellie and Georgie and also Hope and Nugget most of the time until I really look em over....hahahahaha
