Amy, I have one hen who was consistently laying thin shelled eggs and then she went broody and hasn't laid for over 3 months. I'm waiting to see how she starts up again. She got extra calcium, but I was about to resort to a liquid calcium supplement they make. The molt can influence shell quality as can extreme heat.

Well I don't have one but I would love them--- they are so sweet and pretty! My friend has like 40 of them!! I think I like it here

Alright, went to a chicken sale this morning and it was a total bust. Brought 17 bantams......gave 1 rooster to a kid and didn't sell ANYTHING. Sigh.

LH, everyone ooh and aahed over my 'buff columbian' pair. I have a matching girl to the boy you wanted.....she is gorgeous. Sure you can't talk hubby into him/them? I meant to get pix afterwards before i turned them all back loose but i forgot. Great rooster. Great hen.

I sure do want them NellaBean but right now, with everything going on, it would be war. I just keep hoping you do not sell them for a couple of months...maybe some food money donations would help in that cause *hint* *hint* *hint*

Amy, I posted that same problem about thin shelled eggs in a different section and was told that if could be a vitamin D deficiency - I am going to try that on my girl and see.

I just got back from visiting with Gloria Jean who is an absolute sweetheart! Just a dear - she couldn't be nicer! She took me to lunch, toured me around the Franklin area to a beautiful waterfall, we checked out a quilt shop, and of course I saw her chickens - she has some very pretty Del hens from Scott, and if I had ONLY REMEMBERED MY CAMERA

I could show you - since she got them from Scott, I think they are Ike grand daughters, and one in particular has beautiful tail black and hackle markings- but all three are pretty, pretty hens! Stormy is very handsome (Ultrasuede's brother, Thor's too (we will NOT forget Thor ever )) and she has one of the prettiest EE hens I have ever seen. Not to mention a BIG Meg daughter and cute chicks, a very nice DH, and a great set up. If anyone ever has to build a coop and runs on a hillside, talk to Gloria- she has it down! Whew! I have Cloud safe at home. She settled right in to her pen, took some bread out of my hand and went to scratch in her patch of grass. I think she will settle in beautifully, and tomorrow I shall take pictures. So I am delighted with my day!

Wish I could have come with you today, but I was up past midnight working on the quilt and then I didn't get GJ's PM till almost 9 a.m. today. I was exhausted and my neck and shoulders were screaming! I'm glad you two got to meet finally!

I love it- bright and cheerful! I am sure your client will love it - it's a great balance of colors, no one color overwhelms. I am impressed at how fast you work.

Poor little Cloud couldn't figure out she where she was supposed to go tonight, I had to put her in her little house. She wasn't too pleased. She has the most beautiful coloring, soft and dreamy looking. I am very happy with this little girl - hey do I win the prize for having the most Suede descendants?

Folks I've started a posting for Antique incubator and brooders. Please have a look and offer some thoughts and advice. Wireing will to be redone on the brooders of course but I wonder if anyone has seen or used any of these units.
