I wish i could get stuff done outside. Just to cold.

Eggs due to hatch on Sat. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to turn on the heater in the brooder room and dust a bit.

I am picking out seeds to buy and map out where things will go in the garden.

I guess I should see what seeds I have left over from last year. Even with reduced germination I'm sure to have plenty of plants to go round.

Oh how I wish we'd get some sunshine and 50's.

I know I live in a different part of the country but here is a chart I use for my Shelf Life and Storage of Seeds.

It's nice to know but I have to ask.

What is Salsify? Sound like a verb. You know did you Salsify that meat? Salsify and Pepperfy.

And for the Record Scott started the thread and now even he isn't on very much. Where the heck is everyone?

The Delaware breed is Doomed and may go back on the endangered list.

This is a white root — rather like a parsnip but skinnier — that keeps beautifully in the ground. Like the parsnip, it’s planted in spring, as early as the ground can be worked, then allowed to grow all summer and fall until the first frosts bring out its flavor. You can then pull it up during thaws, saving some under refrigeration if you like, but it will shrivel a little and is best dug and eaten fresh. They keep well in the ground.

I must have about 10 or more catalogs.

Got a new one this year and will most likely order something. Indiana Berry and Plant company. Nice prices on Raspberry plants.

I also order from Burpees since they have some new varieties. I need to order some more "Italian Ice" tomatoes. Very good and easy to grow. Plus they have a new paste tomato. I want to try.

I'll be setting seed asap.

We put in about 85-100 tomatoes Juliets, Parks Whoppers, Yellow Boys, Better Boys and some others. Cuke ,Z.squash, yellow squash, peppers , okra, greenbeans, peas, watermellons, canalopes a few Eggplants, Corn ,S. Chard etc ,Mangales for the chickens, they also get other stuff from the garden too

I reckon if I lived down there I'd do the same.

LORD HAVE MERCY! I just had some strawberries DW bought and I swear they were the worst I've ever had. I'm not even sure they weren't spoiled. Though they didn't look it.

Well I reckon this thread has run it's course. More about other things than Delawares. Even chickens for that matter.

Take care folks and have safe week end.
