"Great Garden O Peas!" as Mr. Tim would say! I leave you people for the day and come home to a page and a half of posts!!
Good grief! How's a busy gal like me supposed to keep up?
Brandon, that doesn't sound like a shipping issue to me. That sounds more like a fertility issue! Not even so much as a blood ring on any of them? My money would be on her roo not doing his job! Hope you can find some good eggs soon!
Cetawin, please pass on my best wishes for a speedy recovery for Sarah. OMG! What a mess! Thank heavens she's home safe and sound now. I hope she has good insurance, both for herself and for her rig. It looks from here like it's pretty much so toast!
Any word on if the rig is at all salvageable?
Kathy, now why on earth
wouldn't it be acceptable for you to post pictures of your flock in here? Haaallllooo? We've been posting everything from horses to chickens, to dogs and cats. Why in heaven's name would we object to some very pretty chickens???!!!
I'm totally drooling over all of them!
Those BR's are absolutely spectacular! And the Orps!
And the LS/Coro splits!!
I want all of them!!
You always have such beautiful chickens Kathy. And I have THREE from your flock!
Yes! I feel privileged!!
Cyn, how ya doing sweetie!
I'm glad to see you back and posting today. I've been missing you gal!
Nick, what an awesome opportunity. You'll get a chance to improve conditions for back yard flocks everywhere! Make sure you do your homework and have all of your facts down pat. Because just as sure as God makes little green apples, there will be some grubby little kid who is gonna ask the most insane questions! Gotta be prepared for that!
As well as being prepared for some of the crazy questions the ADULTS ask!
But like someone once said, there are no silly questions, only silly answers! Make sure that your answers aren't silly and you'll do just fine!
Got the coops all nice and clean today. The sun actually came out so I took advantage of the beautiful, albeit COLD, conditions! Everyone seems pretty happy about having clean dry shavings to sleep in tonight. Nearly all of the girls were happy to cuddle up together on the floor tonight, parking their big fluffy butts under the heat lamp!
Kathy, I so wish I'd had the camera with me tonight. You should have seen how Maggie was cuddled up to Chief when I went out to close them up for the night. She had her head tucked so sweetly right up under his chin. And that big old sweet boy of mine looked to be completely content with that. The twins were just a few inches away from her and snuggled up closely to each other.
Just such a sweet and pastoral sight tonight!
Tomorrow, I hope to assemble some kind of retaining box for their DE so everyone can get a nice dust bath! Many of the girls were outside today in the one little patch of sunlight that comes into their covered run at this time of the year, trying to take a dust bath in the little bit of dry, not frozen, earth available out there. Poor babies. But I'll fix that very soon.
OK, heading for the sack. Hope everyone has a pleasant evening, sweet dreams and a wonderful day tomorrow! Yack with y'all tomorrow!
