A laugh for you this morning:

THE TOILET SEAT

Charlie's wife, Lucy, had been after him for several weeks to paint the
seat on their toilet. Finally, he got around to doing it while Lucy was out.
After finishing, he left to take care of another matter before she
returned.

She came in and undressed to take a shower. Before getting in the shower,
she sat on the toilet. As she tried to stand up, she realized that the
not-quite-dry epoxy paint had glued her to the toilet seat.

About that time, Charlie got home and realized her predicament. They both
pushed and pulled without any success whatsoever. Finally, in desperation,
Charlie undid the toilet seat bolts. Lucy wrapped a sheet around herself
and Charlie drove her to the hospital emergency room.

The ER Doctor got her into a position where he could study how to free her
(Try to get a mental picture of this.). Lucy tried to lighten the
embarrassment of it all by saying, "Well, Doctor, I'll bet you've never seen
anything like this before."

The Doctor replied, "Actually, I've seen lots of them. I just never saw
one mounted and framed."

Here is how boring we've gotten in our old age. Note, this is our 35th wedding anniversary:

Plan A was to go to the Golden Corral breakfast buffet in Cleveland, TN, about an hour away and conveniently across from the Hobby Lobby. It's windy, cold and snowing today, so that cooled our resolve.

Plan B was to go to Hardee's, about 14 miles away because DH loves their sausage gravy and biscuits.

Finally, we have settled on Plan C--stay home, drink our own coffee and DH makes sausage gravy and biscuits, eggs, etc.

Seems too much trouble to get out of the house and drive somewhere just to eat stuff we have at home and it's snowing and bitterly cold so...here we are.

First off, very happy 35th!! That is a milestone most people will never see.

And Im so with you. Any celebration with me might be a trip to Gainesville to Backyard Burgers...OMG, I LOVE them!!!! No point in fixing hamburgers at home when I can go there and for $5 get the best burger ever!

I dont blame you for doing just what you're doing. Who can fix better eggs, biscuits and gravy than you can at home? And who wants to go out in that weather; nothing fun about that. Stay home, enjoy the food, the company, the warmth; what better way to celebrate your anniversary. Congrats!!!!

Thank you, Kathy. I'm proud of us for still being married and better yet, still in love. We even still like each other (well, 95% of the time, LOL).

I've seen Backyard Burgers, but there's not one anywhere around us-you have to go back to civilization for that.

We used to get out and run all over from place to place, but now, after quick jaunts to the feedstore and the grocery store, I'm ready to get back home.

Oh yes I do! Don't forget, I'm 2 hours behind ya. I see you online all the time at an hour that is late even for me! Glad to hear you finally got to bed at a decent hour. Felt good, didn't it!?

Tell Mike I'm going to try real hard to get some good pictures of Maggie and the girls today. It's looking like we might luck out and get two consecutive sunny days here today. I sure hope so! I want to get that DE holder built and put into their yard. Their all just begging for a good dust bath! I cleaned the coop yesterday and everyone seemed to really appreciate the clean dry shavings. Not to mention the improved smell of the place!

That little trio you sent me Kathy! I gotta tell ya! They fancy themselves to be real "Mama's Helpers"

Every time I turned around, they were either in the big barrel I use to put the soiled shavings in, or they were kicking to pieces the pile of shavings I had scooped out from under the nest boxes! "Look Mama! We're HELPING!!
wee.gif
Shavings and poo EVERYWHERE!!

And they just looked so completely pleased with themselves!

It took me twice as long as it usually does to clean the coop, but oh how much more entertaining!
lol.png
Especially with Lisette and Cosette. Those two simply MUST inspect everything I do. And then they have to kibitz about it! I had to remove Maggie three times from the pile of shavings in the barrel before she got the hint! It's a darn good thing that they're all so freaking cute! I might have lost my patience otherwise!

Amy, that is the helpful Delaware blood in them!

Those silly Delawares are so helpful ..... yeah, they are a pain in the butt, always under foot! LOL Yesterday my Delaware pen got covered with netting, and Miss Floozy is not happy, not a bit happy about it! She had 2 Dels and 2 Light Sussex out with her yesterday. She has been teaching them all how to escape. There are 3 Light Sussex layers in with them for the winter, and they act just like the Dels! Crazy girls! There will be no more escapes now!

Congrats Cyn & Tom!!!

That certainly is an admirable milestone! And to still like each other!?!?!?

Simply amazing!
lol.png
Though I have to say, plan C got my vote right off the bat. Given the choice, I'll take meals at home any day of the week. Special occasions or not!

Think of it this way Cyn. With the weather being what it is right now, you're probably assuring that you will both be there for your 36th!

Hope breakfast was really yummy. With your own eggs, how could it not be?
