The girls were less than impressed. I keep no food and water in the coop, so they will eventually make their way out. At least half were out by the time I went inside. Not happy, but out!
Of course, the foragers extraordinare, aka the white leghorns, were all the way up at the top of the yard for scratch.
I made them a beet pulp/alfalfa pellets/sweet feed hot mash, but they were not impressed. Whatever, I bet its all gone by the next time I go out!
All the brooders were fine and dandy. My covering on the mesh of the big brooder shed worked well....they were well above freezing inside.
Frankie likes snow.
So does Molly
It was fun times outside this morning.
Except for the chickens.
They were not impressed.
Not impressed at all.
On a sidenote, check out how well camoflauged my white leghorn/giant mix girls are! The darkness under the snow isn't the ground....its leaves. I had piles and piles of leaves all over and you that is what you see. The white leghorn/giant girls look just like the snow/leave mixture.
