Tim

Hope all is well. Interview went great (I thought) yesterday.....I had one of those "tremendous peace" moments that put me at my best.

I can't help you with Orps, but I am working with a great line of BRs when you get ready. NO DISPUTING THESE....

Here are a couple of pix to whet your appetite....first couple are from today. Nice long backs, great tail angles, good size (but could be better based on weights I was getting) and excellent barring. I am sending Kathyinmo a few pullets once the temps cool off a bit.

I'm trying to talk Cyn into a few also....

No pressure and no obligation on your part....just know I've got 'em if you need 'em

Boy, that last picture is a golden ball of fluff! Rancher, I really like my Orps - Ultrasuede is just the sweetest, gentlest rooster - he may not be totally happy yet in his new lot, but he is not taking it out on me, at least. The only thing, is there is LOTS of drama amongst the 4 girls- you have to be able to put up with a lot of shrieking insults and hair pulling.

Cyn,

i'ts a boy, alright. Oh well. He has a beautiful face, doesn't he? It's hard to tell on the BR- hope it's a pullet.

Uh, Scott? Those are FANTASTIC BR's- good for you! And YAY on the interview- we are still praying here!

Tim, I think that first little BO girl looks exactly like my FussyButt, in the face especially !

You'll love having them around. They're a sweet and quiet bird for the most part. At least the six that I had [down to just FussyButt now.

] have all been wonderful girls. And they seem to go broody fairly readily. Here's a picture of Fussy from about a year and a half ago, when I was trying to break her of a broody spell.

You'll note the look of displeasure in her eyes!?! Oh yes! That's her best stink eye to date!

Gosh! How I wish we'd had a rooster back then. Fussy and Gimpy would have made such awesome mama's!

Go for some Orps Tim! You'll never regret them!

Tim, those Orps look much better than the other birds you showed us. I'm not sure if I'll have Orp eggs. Ol' Suede is not the aggressive breeder of his younger years, plus he has only two blue girls and Meg, my RIR/Buff Orp cross hen. I don't even have a BR rooster now, other than my crippled Zane. Dutch went to live with someone else-it was his second chance after he decided I was the cause of all his troubles. I have my Isaac in with the main flock, which includes three Delaware hens.

Scott, one of these days, I'll be wanting eggs from those BRs, buddy.

Wow, what a response,

Yard: first I have to tell you I had a young man digging some post holes and I swear this place is the worse. Took him two days with the rocks here. They put hard fill in here and Lord have mercy! Course I guess with some cement I could build a foundation for a small coop.
Anyhow yeah I'll keep you in mind. Can you send hatching eggs, when and how much? I got Del eggs to trade if you'd like.

Cyn you know I love you most and I'm not really into orps for breeding but they are nice looking in the yard. My two are hatchery and they seem to lay well. Color doesn't matter as long as they're all Orp. Of course I only got one hen from your eggs so I'm open to buying more if you have them. I'm regretting I couldn't keep the four roos I gave away cuz the one I kept is looking really nice. Him and Nick get along pretty swell.

I'll pay in advance cuz I want to fire up the incu in January maybe sooner. I want them laying before labor day or sooner.

I bought hatching eggs at an auction this past summer but didn't keep any cuz I wasn't sure I'd want them. I had someone on CL ask for them and then didn't want them. Believe me I don't expect to get quality eggs at this auction. Two of the eggs were so dirty I tossed them and thought anyone who would sell eggs this dirty probably have muddy lines anyhow. I gave them away. I just wanted them for a couple of broodies.

I'm hoping for 5 chicks on Saturday. I've got a BO sitting on Dels. I figure they'll be feathered out by winter.

Cyn I'll try to get Geogie boy to hold still for photos.

Love ya all

Rancher

I want to hear if she deals with Hughes Net like she did the truck dealership! Woo-hoo!!

BTW, if any Delaware people on here are interested, my dear new friend Walt Leonard of the APA has joined, and has posted on the "Delaware Dilemma" thread I put up today! Go say welcome! Cyn, he said some more about the Del bantams.
