Amy, the weather here was pretty nice. The sad thing is we still have snow but in town, 6 miles away, most of it is gone. I put my winter boots away yesterday and I refuse to take them out until November!!! They were saying on the news that next week we may get a rain/snow mix

I'm losing my Charlotte! She is hunched up, no symptoms other than she has lost some weight. No molt, no lice/mites, don't think worms since she is the only one, no bloat, nothing, and she has been laying recently. Put her under a heat lamp, but she is standing with eyes closed. I hate when there is no real course of action to take!

Charlotte is 4 years old so not a spring chicken, by any means. Her daughter, Gypsy, will lose her best pal. Why my sweetest girls? Why not one I'm not as fond of as I am my Ameraucana lap chickens?

Because they are our favorites Cyn, we feel the loss so much more. I've come to the realization that I've lost far more birds that weren't my favorites than I have who were. It just seems like I loose my favorites more often because of how keenly I feel the loss. I bet it's the same for you.

I'll be keeping your Charlotte and you in my thoughts and prayers today sweetie. I so hope it's just an off day for Charlotte.

Thanks, Amy and Robin. Charlotte is the mother of so many Ameraucanas here on BYC. I sent her and her sister, Silver's eggs out to lots of folks back then. She is a complete angel and when she is gone, there will be a huge hole here, even more so when her daughter, Gypsy, has passed. Here is Charlotte, for those who don't know her sweet face:

CYN!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT CHARLOTTE! OMG, I AM FREAKING OUT HERE! SO SORRY! I have always been a big Charlotte fan. That is so horrible. I am so sorry. I don't even know her, but for some reason I just love that hen! I am so hooked on Ameraucanas, I just have a special thing for them.

I am too devastated! I remember seeing her roosting. Poor Charlotte... Maybe you should start worming.
