This weather is just crazy! I woke up to 70* and it is now going down. Windy, cool and less than 60. Slight chance of rain seems to have passed us by for now. However, it is expected tonight AND Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!

I do not need any more broodies right now. No, no, no! I have a black silkie setting and my plan is to do what I did to her sister a month or so back. I will be hatching on Sunday, and will change out her eggs for some chicks! hehehehe Hope it works again. Then, after a couple weeks, take the chicks and toss her back into the Silkie coop. Well, that is the plan.

Funny thing though.... I tried it with my SLW. Oh no, it did not work. She kept the chicks warm all night, and the next morning when we opened the gate ...... out she ran! She was done with those chicks! hahaha. Well, the joke is on me now, as she is setting again.

Suede does not shoot blanks..Adonis is proof of that. He cannot help it that his women are defective.

All this hoopla about an extra large hawk snack....I mean that big ole white bird stands out like a buck in an ice cream parlor. Whereas the PERFECT rooster does not need to stand out and show off, he's blue and gorgeous and knows it.

But if you like the look of hawkbait I guess I just have to smile and nod while I say "There there Kathy maybe one day you can have the perfect rooster too"

Same here my 1st broodie Bell my Blue Rock on the nest for 3 days now. Don't know if I should let her do it or not. They will be mix breed.

She has taken to laying all of her eggs under the table saw out in the toy shed!

And if that isn't bad enough, she has taught and encouraged Cosette to do the same! Today, I caught her, Cosette and GINGER [of the wonky toes] all in there at the same time, having themselves a little egg laying party!

What the heck is with that woman?!?! An insulated coop ain't good enough for her?!? Oh no! If she ain't laying eggs in the sawdust under the table saw, she's sneaking over to the boys coop, pulling a "Floozy" all the way, and popping her egg into the corner by the door of their house!

What do I have to do? Tie an anchor around her butt? *sigh* Ya know something? I really do love that little trollop!

I look at it this way....I get to go on an Easter Egg Hunt every day!!

It snowed [albeit briefly] again today! How am I ever going to get all of my spring chicken cleaning chores done if this keeps up!?!

Amy do not feel alone...Cannonball took to laying hers on the porch swing. Cynthia is bringing me one that sits in the feeder to eat and one that she loses constantly because she has flown up 6 - 8' and hidden somewhere. Problem children

Oh sure! Yeah! She's a real regular barrel of laughs! *sigh* I suppose I should count my blessings. At least she doesn't get up to the kind of shenanigans that my human child seems bent on executing these days! Believe me, there are days with that kid that I'd like to....I dunno....maybe....
Know what I mean?

Hey! I stopped in at Del's Farm Supply this morning to exchange a bag of feed and guess what!?! They had honest to goodness EE pullet chicks in!!! Of course, they're trying to pass them off as genuine Ameraucana chicks!
