I admit it Kathy, I am a great pet sitter except for the critter stealing thing...little cute chicks, especially aorps, well I cannot control myself I had to take them, they begged me to...Sarah was mean to them because they are different and well I just had to...you understand don't you?

I do like my hair at the new length....much easier, cooler and feels great too.


night night all I am checking the bator one more time before I lie down..I ave one pip I hope hatches. I have little hope for the other 4. Update tomorrow/today

LH, do you still like that Brinsea? I HATE them! I just cleaned out 2 of them. Unscrew the whole danged top to clean the dander from the fan area. I don't like the black basket, it should be white so I can be sure I don't miss anything. My hand slips when I pick up the lid. Not to mention that it will not hold humidity..... ETC>>>

I am so sad... A neighbor turned eggs for me... Well, while doing that, somehow the plug came undone. That's 40 eggs.... Dead. Humidity was 84%, temp 70*f.

I don't believe that I have any chicks left. I'm leaving them in there until tomorrow, and I'll candle tomorrow.

I will set three or four more dozen for me. I can't believe this....

Well went to a chicken show today ---um errr came home with a stunning bantam barred rock hen! Saw some great birds today. My hen is show quality - but i am just not sure i want to go thru with all that ! Was really interesting tho - saw some breeds i had not seen in person

Thank you Kathy - he had meant to sell me a different hen and then took her out and was oh well oh- i think this is the nicer one - he had gotten it mixed up- I offered to take the other so he told me no i promised her to you- Showed me how to go thru her feathers - what to pick out - this and that - oh my. Get her ready for shows . Might just show her once for the fun. Love these lil Rocks tho!!!!!!!!! MOst gentle and sweet birds i have had!

The FOX returned for a second visit today. Thankfully I was outside. Again he was right near the fence of the chicks. Cody got a shot off, but missed him. He did, however, get the rabbit that the fox was probably originally chasing.

ETA: Tell me about fox behavior. Do they keep returning? Do they pick off a flock one at a time, or do they kill them all? How do they work?
