Nice to hear you had a good time Scott......sounds like you got a freezer full as well!

Joletabey, you have hit your quote of sending breathing animals to LH. MY TURN. Well, okay, I have sent her the 3 porcelain already....but mine were smaller! Let's go on a per lb basis. When I hit 800lbs of chickens, it'll be your turn again.

800lbs is a LOT of roosters.

Shouldn't Ms Joletabey be there by now? I demand pictures and a detailed report!

LH! Less horse kissy face, more posting!

In broody news, STILL no hatchlings......things aren't looking well for this hatch. Momma broody was off the nest this morning and one of the eggs was peeping very loudly. SIGH.

Stupid hen. She needs to get her act together. Maybe I should start sharpening the hatchet.

Maybe not.

Scott, glad you're back! These folks sure can talk, can't they? Every morning, I have a few pages to read since I can't stay up as late as these party animals! Yea for Colby--guess he's the master hunter in the family, huh?

Loved those videos! Funny that Big Blue was bored so quickly with his referee duties and furry reinforcements were called to duty.

I finished the watercolor quilt except for the binding, which I'll start on today. Then I have a lap quilt to quilt for goldenluver and then will start on another project--no idle hands here, but lots of fingertip callouses!

Scott- you are back! Congrats on the kills- you will have fine eating all winter , thats for sure!

Nella, no WAY are we going by weight - Jo is a big girl and closer to 950 than 800 - I'll be dead by the time you ship that many birds off to LH. Not ot mention Boo and Ivan.

LH isn't kissing horsey face yet, she is standing by the road, gazing longingly down the hill, carrots and camera in hand. Hopefully a noon arrival for Miss Diva.

Cyn, have you posted pics of the watercolor quilt- I would love to see it.

Good morning to you all,
Scott, it is so nice to have you back safe and sound. Congratulations on the successful hunting trip! Those boys must be in hog heaven!

Congrats, Cyn.... for finishing up another quit. You are one busy woman!

Nella, with all those roosters, you could have a freezer full of nuggets!

Beth, Did you get the incubators? Are you ready????

Big blue tried his best but those boys were always getting into it. Mr Mottled is a little troublemaker which is why he has had so many near death experiences. You can see a big rooster pacing the fenceline in the background in that wood framed pen, in the second video.......

Mr Mottled tried to take him on too....I used to have a funny pic of it but can't find it now.

He and Mr Blue have a love hate relationship. Mostly hate. Mr Mottled just wishes he was big enough to take him.....

If you think Mr Mottled's face looks a little white....well, it DOES.....because that was fresh off a near death experience with another rooster (probably LH's boy)....soon as he recovered enough to be moved back outside, here he was fence fighting with Big Blue. Crazy bird....he hadn't even finished growing all of the skin back on his face at that point and was already picking more fights.

Little man syndrome.....gets ya every time. Mr Mottled now lives in a private 8x8 breeder coop/pen with 4 beautiful mottled ladies to keep him company. Just can't trust him to keep himself out of trouble!

Joletabey........I was guessing on the weight. Figured she is an arab so probably petite....my QH mare is a bit rotund and probably just over 1000#.

I wish someone would come over and process all my extra roosters. Boyfriend is still refusing to do it unless he gets to blow them to smithereens with a large gun. Stupid man.

Our oldest grandchild lives in New York. We have not seen her (or her brother) since they were infants. Today I got a picture of our granddaughter, Tessa. OMGosh, I think she is just beautiful. This is from her high school graduation pictures.
