Hey guys another random question
What do ya'll do about yummy bug like stuff and meaty treats for your chicks in the winter ? I know mine are huge foragers so i am thinking what in the heck can i get them - i had thought of gettting crickets at the pet store - but?

Mine get lots of "leftovers" from meals we cook. Inevitably, we put it in the fridge with good intentions of eating it again and never seem to get around to it

Since we hunt. I also will occasionally cook them up some older (often freezer burned, but otherwise good) ground deer from the previous season.

We have a grocery store here locally that still "cuts" meat. I have befriended the butchers and they will save me "trimmings" and I will cook that up for them too.

I have occasionally gone to the bait store and bought crickets for them....but DANG they are expensive. Like $5 for what they call a "tube" of crickets. And they vanish within minutes of me putting them out. Fortunately (or unfortunately) it really never gets cold enough to freeze the ground too hard or too long in NW Georgia so mine always seem to find little critters that the cold doesnt get

I do participate in school plays, also. This year I'm the nutcracker in the nutcracker.

Nick are you talking high school or college?

High. But I don't really like to talk about my age on the internet. Kathy knows, though.

Welcome back, Braclin! I was wondering when we'd hear from you again!

Well the weather is nice again! And we used up all the eggs from this week on pancakes.

Here's what we collected from last night.

Lily supplied the eggs, and Pepper supplied the pancakes!
