Hooray for Gee Gee! Seeeeeee, there ya go, proving they can hatch in the winter! Good girl, Gee Gee! She will be happy in one of those Nella broody brooders, I am sure!

Cyn, how is your incubating coming along? I forgot how many you have in there now.

Nella, your brooder plans are now officially world famous! I had just finished printing out a set of them for Denny and I to refer to tomorrow, when a friend of ours from down the road stopped by. He was wanting to know if I could build him a brooder real quick. One of the little chicks I gave them last summer not only started laying about three months ago or so, but she's now broody too!!

. I just rolled my eyes and said, "Here, everything you need to know to build the perfect brooder/broody hutch. Have at it!"

Needless to say, I had to print out a set for us again! Ya know, I need to get down to their place and make a visit. I gave them three little chicks back in May of last year, and according to Angie, they're all hens now! Figures, don't it? :rolleyes. Wished I'd known that. I would have kept them. One of them was a blue Amer from Jean Ribbick!

What y'all wanna bet it's the Amer that's gone broody!?

I can't win!

I just had to share a couple of pics with y'all! Check this out....first time broody, GeeGee!! Awww! Ain't she sweet, all puffed up and keeping those eggs nice and toasty warm!

Don't let the sweet face fool you! She can just about take a finger off in a heart beat! She's reaaaaal protective of them eggs she's got hidden under there! I so hope she makes it all the way. One can never have too many broodies. Right Nella??

And Kathy, just for you. Chicken Pyramid!! Chief and Maggie on the foundation, and Cosette on top!

Honest! I didn't stage that picture! I had gone out after my last post to tuck everyone in for the night and had taken the camera with me to get some pictures of GeeGee. When I turned around, these three sillies were in this position. At first I thought Cosette had actually climbed up on top of mom and Chief, but it's just an illusion. She's actually standing behind the two adults. But it sure look otherwise, doesn't it?

Oh my yes! She's a big girl for sure now! An egg every day! Other than the one day following her first egg, she has laid every single day since!

I'm so proud of her. You should be too! You gave them such a wonderful start in life, Kathy.

Tomorrow, we build the brooder. [or should I say today?]And then it's back to finishing up the shower in the guest bathroom. I got about a third of the grouting done this morning. I can hardly wait to get it all finished and then take the first shower in it! And yes! I have first dibs on that! Annie so much as thinks about being the first one in that shower and I'll roll that little head of hers!!

The little snot! She's always pulling selfish stunts like that.

OK, yours truly is finally having trouble keeping her eyes open. Time to lay my widdle head down and go to sleep. See y'all in the morning.

Amy, that pic is priceless! I officially approve it avatar-worthy!! And gege... Oh my, she is vicious! Also no, this girl was dressed from head to toe in Chanel and is STUPID!!

The del babies are a week old tomorrow and I get to raise their heat lamp, yay! Can you tell that my brooder's been empty since the summer?

And zucchini Is laying agaijn, btw.

I'm thinking about actually hatching out my new chicks in an incubator instead of McMurray, because of wuality internal laying problems etc.

That adds up to around 1,200 dollars.

Luckily my dad owes me $105, and ill be selling two ipods, an MP3 player and a large dog crate. Chicken budgets...

And one more thing.... Ny play starts tomorrow!!! ;woot

Amy, Cosette is darling - what a lovely girl. That is a picture that needs to be picture of the week- I think you should send it in.

How is everyone else's weather? We got some horrible winds that took down big branches and did a few other nasty things.
