Wait... Human mom and her kids had to sleep in your basement? Or do you mean a broody? That stinks about the weather! Good thing you're not far into Mahonri's incubation.

Cyn. Cry cry cry! Char was with you for four great years! Don't you dare put your self down. Are you kidding?

I am so glad that Sunny's okay. That was odd! Hopefully with all these breeder chicks coming you won't have so many problems.

Know... You're the one who can resist chickens, aren't ya? I won three auctions this weekend.

Poor Kathy! We're expecting bad storms. There are warnings and tornado watches all over, east and north of us.

This is the weirdest day. First, we lose Charlotte, then are sure Sunny is a goner, and now, Snow is straining on the nest, her abdomen is too large, etc. We're going to dose her with penicillin, but she hasn't laid an egg in maybe six months or more. Till now, everything else was normal about her, but today, she has me worried. Gave her emergency calcium (crushed Tums in yogurt) and will do the injection when the penicillin warms up. Blue Rock Neela is in heavy molt and she has lost an alarming amount of weight probably from growing in all those feathers at once like she is. Had her in the broody pen for a bit to get extra protein in her, with Avia Charge water, yogurt and eggs, but when we put her back in the flock, found Snow having a hard time.

The only two porcelain D'Anvers are pipped very early, which is a bright spot in my day, but this is a crazy day.

Yes, Nick ..... it is called old age. Things happen with age..... all kinds of weird and odd things.

Yes, they're older birds, Nick. Snow is about 3 years old, Sunny is over 5, Charlotte was 4. Haven't had a breeder type bird with this type egg issue, but now I have Snow. Her abdomen hurts her. When DH was holding her while I felt her abdomen, she was gently biting Tom's arm, like "Daddy, please stop, that hurts". She was so gentle about it, but it was definitely uncomfortable for her.

Some crazy things are happening here today, too!

Well, as you know, I am reading through the Delaware thread (now on page 386!). Well, a couple pages ago, Scott types: "I just took some excedrin migraine pills". Well, I knew that I had just seen some! I look up, and see them sitting right in front of me. A relative had just had some a few minutes ago. That just seemed kinda strange!

Then, I walk out the front door, on the way to the beach, when it suddenly starts POURING rain! And there is only one cloud in the sky, right above our beach house. And it's white and fluffy! Now it's long gone and sunny again... That was just so strange.

Alright, off to the beach.

ETA: Scott and Cyn, since you guys are pretty close to me, what level humidity do you keep your bators during lockdown? It's very humid down here, I know that Cyn's elevated so might be a little different.
