Well, how about some good news folks? I don't know about anyone else, but seeing Cyn loose yet another of her sweet little girls breaks my heart. I was going to hold off until tomorrow to post these, when I'd hopefully have some better shots, but I think we could all use a little cheering up. Especially my friend Cynthia. So, for you, dear lady.......
Delaware Babies!!!!
And already, they're working on their mind control eye contact!
And they're just so dang friendly!
And curious about everything!
Yup! Definitely working on that mind control gaze!
And I'd say this one has it down pat!
As near as I can tell, they're at least 4 days old now. Mary at the feed store got her shipment in from Privitte (sp?) Friday, but I couldn't get out to her place until Saturday afternoon. Boy! Did they stick out like a sore thumb in a brooder full of EE's!!!
Wasn't hard at all to figure out which ones were mine. The little bit of color on the top of their heads is my doing, as Mary was fresh out of small colored leg bands. The two that have pink on their heads are actually one with pink and the other with an orange color that, for some reason, came out pink when placed on a pale yellow chick.
So far, I'm entertaining the names of Amelia, Elenore and Madison. Yes, all three are pullets [supposedly]. It's going to be so fun to watch these three grow up. They're already very inquisitive about just about everything. Jasper has been introduced this evening. Initial impression on Jasper's part seems to be one of "Oh Boy!! I have new babies!!!". The chicks for their part were not impressed with the big black and smelly rooster!
They'll come to appreciate him in time. Especially for his dog food!
Now then, doesn't that feel just a little bit better??? Hang in there Cyn sweetie. Brighter days will come again!
