YAY for me! I got rid of 12 little boy chicks today, and 2 adult Silkie boys. Happy I won't have to grow them out any further.

Bad new is..... I have about 10 New Hampshire chicks growing out, and I think I have only 2, maybe 3 females!

The Delaware chicks from Paul Harter ..... I think I might have 6 females at most.

I didn't need to buy Cornish Cross chicks for my freezer this year. I will have plenty of culls to fill it up I think. Well, that is my plan anyway ..... Delaware, Barred Rock, and New Hampshire culls will be good eatin'.

We're going to start making some big changes around here soon. When Junebug and Addie are gone to Kentucky with LH and Sarah and Molly are in the new coop with my other chicks, I'm selling the Firetower and removing the fencing. I'm sure a few burly men could lift it onto a trailer and transport it somewhere. There are other changes we're going to make over time. One of them involves possibly dismantling the entire building where Suede's group, the old ladies and Zane all live, believe it or not. That won't happen until after Suede has passed on, though.

You meant to put those two together didn't you? Start planning and load that big ole blue lovebug up with his women....I will give him the one car garage all to himself.

He'd need a one car garage! Of course, he'll need a throne constructed in there, you know.

Derrick picked up 15 chicks from me this morning. Thanks, Derrick, if you read this! Such a nice man! He has Riley's son with Isaac, who turned out to be a really great looking rooster.

Emily is back with the flock, acting like the last 17 days never happened and June's egg is under Nugget, who I'm sure won't abandon her motherly duties.
