And here she sits, exhausted, sleepy and unable to fall asleep because she is worrying about a stupid doc appointment at 2:30, a nasty chore I must do tomorrow and 2 sweet animals that deserve better than they are getting. Oh there is a special place in hell for people who do not take care of and provide for the animals they have.

If I am lucky, the doc will put me in the hospital, hook me up to a B12 IV and some fast fat and I can handle and tackle all this nonsense.

*sigh*

Night night all

You hang in there, LH! Call me whenever you need to, my dear pal. And today is Day 20 for Smoky. We will be doing some switcheroo with eggs and chicks under that big girl today. I want the eggs to hatch in the bator, considering what happened to her first egg last year and the small size of Dusty's eggs vs the size of the chicks.

ETA: No go. Removed one egg that was cheeping from under Smoky and replaced with one of the chicks. She did not act motherly at all, no clucking, nothing. Acted like something foreign invaded her space. She pecked and growled at it so rather than risk her killing one of the chicks, we removed the other egg from her and they're both in the incubator. We'll raise them all till LH comes to get them. I can't take the chance that Smoky will kill any of these babies, hers or Dusty's first chicks in two years.

LH, my thoughts and prayers are with you today and I hope that your DR visit will go well

Kathy, I love those pics of Grorge and the crew. Especially the first pic with his wings spred out like that. They are looking great!

Cyn, too bad that Smoky wouldn't accept the babies.

I understand not wanting to take the chance.

Cyn, I think I would do the same thing. Better safe than sorry, for sure! Good luck with those last eggs, too!
