aaawwwwww Laura I am sorry if she is laying internally.

I had a Speckles too my beloved little SLW. She was internally laying and going to die anyway but I lost her with the other girls that day in the heat. She was a hoot....went to school with Cheyenne for a couple of days, would ride around with me in my van and loved the coffee shop because the girls always had a small biscuit for her. Something special about those Speckles especially our Speckledhen.

Oh, I went ahead and put Maretta and Shelby in with the main flock, so Ranger has those two plus the two Buff girls he has spent lots of time with over in Rex's group. Now, Rex has three barred girls and his splash girl, Gloria Jean.

I'm sorry, Laura, sounds like a reproductive malfunction for sure. Those are awful.

I also have a Barbara, but she won't be going in with Rex since her butt isn't big enough to truly be worthy of her name.

OH, I just heard that the famous Barbara was killed by a dog! They lost 27 chickens, including her, darn it!

dammmmmmnable irresponsible dog owners I swear they need to be to tied down and beaten senseless WHILE OUR CHICKENS PECK THEM REPEATEDLY, their dogs taken away and banned for the remainder of their lifetime from ever having another animal.

Well, Shelby and Maretta just sailed over the fence with ease and tried to go home to Rex. Those two can fly very well, darn it! I put them in there to deal with them later, and immediately, Rex grabbed one then the other, trying to mate! FINALLY! They may not want to be in there, either, now, so I might just have to put them in the bantam coop, which is covered and will thwart their escape efforts. Good grief, nothing ever works out the way you want it, does it? Ranger is in the main coop, hanging inside. Not sure if Ike will go after him today-he ignored him yesterday, but that was yesterday.

My Giant Partridge Cochin aka The Unsinkable Molly Brown laid her first egg

I candled the eggs in the incubator out of 27 eggs only one was a complete dud. It's day 6 for the E. Leghorns and day 4 on the BBS Andalusians. I'm gonna candle again towards the end of the week because I have BW Ameraucana and Auracana over Ameraucana and Guienna eggs coming

I don't just do anything halfway lol. Took that incubator out of storage and will have it busting at the seams soon.
