LH your post made me laugh out loud and disrupted my bros beauty-rest(he worked all night on a land drilling rig) but seriously he needs to go to bed he's disturbing my peace and quite already(ZZZZZ)snoring loudly every breath in and out. anyway he's awake now because of the outburst of laughter your post made me uncontrollably yelp out.

Go Smokey go and yes get all the TLC you deserve girl(those animals know how to get all the goodies they "ain't" dumb)

Good deal on the F2 hatch so far looking good there Mrs. Kathy a fairly decent # of yellows this round so far. COOL

I did manage to force myself out into the undesired conditions this afternoon and try to make some attempt at working a little. My bro was working on his truck and had it in worse shape than when he started so I rescued him out of a pickle and did make a little chicken feed money too. I got to hit it hard tomorrow and make up for two days horrible weather/ instead of sick days I take bad weather days off.

Hoping she pulls thru for you Cyn.

Kathy, congrats on the hatch. Still a lot of black ones but maybe the next gen will have more yellow ones for you. I am glad that you are keeping us updated on your project.

I'm about to get out of Orps also. We just can not get nice Orps anymore. We've got a and. blue hen who is going to be sent to freezer camp once DH gets home because she's just scary mean to people and chickens now. Plus the idiot lays a green egg, so I know she's got EE somewhere in her and I suspect that's the behavior (ok, I know, I'm biased, but we've never had a civil EE), but ARGH!!!!

I hope so, but it isn't looking good at the moment. Nothing else we can do except wait. The fluid that was building under the skin is draining through the stitches, which is a good thing, IMO, and she is resting in a towel DH twisted into a sort of nest to support her breast area, under the heatlamp. At least if she dies, she went in a warm, quiet environment. Poor Suede and Dusty. Dusty has never been without her sister, not ever. Even when Smoky went broody, she was in the broody pen next to Suede's coop and they could see each other. I'll miss her quirky personality, darn it. At least, I have the two huge Buff Orp pullets from Jody that I could give Mr. Suede.

I have had to massage Silkies crop on occasion, it gets huge and she gets quiet, and I know she needs some help. So far, so good, but it does seem to be an Orp problem. I do hope Smoky makes it, I hate the thought of her not being on this earth.

The Diva loves being a mama,LH, so go for it. I hope you get a filly, though, and that she is the spitting image of her mama, right down to the polished toes!
