Nella, do please get to a doctor- that sounds serious - a normal cold would be almost over by now, wouldn't it?

Are any of you having a squirrel problem this year? The little terrors are all over my horse barn, getting into things, have gotten into the runs, and been seen calmly munching away with their hairy little butts sitting right in the chicken's feed containers.

I have a plan for next week when Jack is off- I am going to park him in a lawn chair at the end of the barn (it's only 36 feet long) with his gun, and have him wait it out till the little varmints come in the end door and then he can send them to play with all the possums Kathy has gotten and the one Tom nailed today.

Yes, wear a mask! I have been coughing my head off, too. Mine is more in my throat and ears. I hate having to blow my nose every 10 minutes! I imagine with all the people we were around last weekend, we were bound to pick up something.

In your chest..... yes that could develop into something worse. You gotta get that checked out, girl!

Yes, please go, Janelle. Sounds like pneumonia to me. I was a clinic mom when my sons were in elementary school. I started coughing and coughing and ended up sicker than any of the kids that came into the clinic. When I finally decided to go to the doc, I did indeed have pneumonia. Took an entire month of antibiotics to get over it-it had quite a foothold by the time I went. Please go, sweetie.

I feel slightly better, but still, my stomach feels sore like someone punched me. I will be starting back to work on my niece, Ranee's quilt today. It's a medallion style and I had already quilted the center medallion when I stopped back in May as the weather became too hot to sit with a darn quilt on my lap. I need to finish by the second week of December, but I'm sure I can, barring any unforeseen complications. Here is the quilt in her requested colors, pre any quilting:

I made it this way because when Tom showed her pics of some of my quilts at a family get-together I didn't attend so I could get an idea of her taste, she loved this one I completed years ago (entirely by hand, I might add, even the piecing-this one will be pieced by machine). I called it my "Deep Purple Dream" quilt after that old pop song.

Cyn I love the cut, it looks great on you now Kathy's turn.

I've had no possum, squirrel or coon problems thank heavens however last night while sitting here at the diningroom table doing a paper for school, I hear major squeaking.
ep.gif
the sound of a happy mouse coming from under my fridge. I squealed, jumped, flew up on top of the diningroom table and squealed "moouuuuuuse" like a sissy girl, Casca was howling, Blue was barking, Atlas and brother were alarming and DH and Bear were hysterical laughing at me. So, Bear moved the frig just in time to see it scurry through a hole going into the cabinet under the sink....I had him set a trap and lo and behold about 20 mins later I hear it snap. Hehehehehehe. I got up and peered behind frig to see mouse flip flop in trap for last time. Then I squealed like a sissy girl again for DH to come get it.

I could handle a 10' snake coming out from under my frig but a dang mouse makes me a sissy and neurotic, I cannot stand mice! Those beady little eyes with that "Can't catch me attitude and squeaking". Eeeeeeewwwww cringe. *squealing thinking about it* Tonight I set traps everywhere after I go buy more traps today! I know it has friends or relatives nearby. *squeals again like sissy girl*

The Diva Do was ashamed of me when I told her about it this morning, she gave me this look that screamed. "Get a grip woman, stomp it to death, it is what I would do now put on your big girl panties and go get those rodents!"

I'm still in the scrounging/hording phase of my future quilting career. Someday I hope to rival Kathy's stash!

Nella! Get your butt to the doctors NOW!! That pneumonia is NOTHING to mess around with and it really sounds to me like that may be what you have!

If nothing else, start stoking up on your vitamin C, rest and plenty of fluids. Something with Cranberry in it!

Well, the wee babe continues to thrive under Prius's watchful and caring eyes. I took the last two eggs away from her yesterday, making me her less than favorite human at that time. Every time I walked past the brooder after that, she would fluff up and growl very menacingly at me. I get the feeling that she really wanted more than just one chick. GeeGee had that kind of determination last winter with Goobey and [two weeks later] Charlotte. I think I could have put another set of eggs under Prius and she would have stayed put and hatched those as well. Silly girl!

But, it's nice to know that I have yet another mama girl now!
