Hey Laura, How did your camper coop turn out?

I got my pens all set for winter yesterday. Rooster coop has 20 boys in it. I dunno, I am gonna have to watch them today.... I don't really want to split them up and make 2 pens, but may have to.

I spent the day getting the Icelandic coop done and hopefully making the run escape proof.
My little boy Del is so sweet I am now thinking about letting my adult Del rooster go to a new home instead. My adult roo is the top roo and he is very well behaved but he does not look as good as my teen Delaware boy. He is the daddy to the littlest one though. Since Shug hasn't been mothering the babies anymore the little boy has been coming to me more and more.

Well now Mr. Lancelot and I just had words and they were not really kind ones. Hmmmmm. I was a little late getting out to put them up, the time change messed with me in the kitchen so I am walking towards the coop and Lancelot came running up behind me which never bothers me but he bit my hand and flared at me. So I turned around and said "Really? Have you lost your darn mind?" The look that came over his face was priceless. It was a combination of "mom?" And "Ut Oh let me explain".

I think the lighting and me walking with my big coat on and gloved hands threw him off about the whole mama thing but when he heard my voice he was Mr. Sweetie pie again. Silly boy best get used to a big coat and gloves it is getting that time of year. Hehehehehe. Hubby was walking behind me and Lancelot was in front of him and he yelled "WTH was that about?" I laughed and said "Change...the coat and gloves, mama don't wear them but a evil flesh eating chicken killer does obviously". Hahahahaha

Ok, here is a pic of my Delaware rooster, daddy to the almost 6 week old babies. He is from Zephyrcreek and she got hers from Sand Hill.
He was going thru a molt but most of his tail feathers are black. He does not seem to have as wide of a chest as the others that I have had from Kathy.
