You know, it is so funny you mention that. Just yesterday, Tyler said, "Ya know, Mom, those Project birds are the softest chickens I ever held. I would sure like to have a pillow that soft!" I laughed and told him he should pick up the Barred Rocks! hahaha YES, they are very soft! I wonder why that is............ hmmmm...

Since my broody mama told her chicks they were on their own, Tyson has taken over with them.....

I so love a dog who is good and easy going with chickens. Kind of like our Jasper. He thinks those are HIS birds!

Cyn, get a lab cross puppy from the pound and raise him/her up with the chooks. They'll just think that's part of their pack and accept them from there.

My three little mutt BR's are by far the softest of all of my chickens. I have no idea of why that is. Maybe something in the barring gene perhaps?

Whatever the reason, they're always delightful to cuddle up with.

Chy, give your mom a hug for me and tell her she always has a friend up here in Washington.

Weather here continues to be cold and dry. That's just fine with me and the chickens. Even though I'd love to have about 2 feet of the white stuff on the ground, the chickens couldn't be happier that there isn't, and therefore, I'm happy too!

Hope y'all have a wonderful day!

Hey, Chy, was talking to your mom and I bent down at Suede's gate, told him his best friend was on the phone, to say hello, and he obliged by crowing right into the phone for her. That boy has one awesome crow, best one here. I can't imagine a day when I won't hear that deep, long, wolf-like crow.

Kathy, hopefully, we'll have you at least 15-17 eggs by packing-up time Sunday evening. Do you want me to up "Call for Pickup" on the box with your phone number?
