Suede did indeed tell LadyHawk he loves her too and her baked goodies n pancakes. Love that boy's crow. I missed Thor's but I do have the studly Lancelot deep howler crow but Thor had his daddy's crow.

He's so good, that big sweet blue angel of a rooster.

When I set a few BR eggs after I collect Scott's, I'm going to grab a few of Meg's and maybe even Hope's to add in there. Robin (pumpkinpup) lost Traveler recently and she said she'd love more Suede/Meg kids. I never got any daughters but that Polly was just gorgeous, the one Kathy used to have, and so was Velvet, Gloria Jean's Meg daughter.

Aw, love you, too, sweet thing!

You know, I'm rethinking the hatch. Not really sure we should do it. Hmm. I just don't need anymore birds right now, though I do plan to hatch some D'Anvers when they start laying. Might want to keep that coop ready for those youngsters. Decisions, decisions!

Cyn.....dont sweat it!! I'm close enough you'll ALWAYS have a source!!! I'll even hatch 'em for ya! Just make sure I get a few pullets from the eggs that I can put back in with their "daddy" and we're all good

My incubator can always be cranked up!!!

Now Cynthia, my dear friend, I know I don't need to lecture you on the wisdom of not putting all of your eggs into one basket, so I shan't. BUT! Having said that, I still reserve the right to "encourage" you to hatch a bunch of Suede's children! As much as we'd all like to see the Mighty Blue Tank stand at stud for a good many years yet, all good things do eventually come to an end. [perish the thought, for that would be one of the saddest days of all sad days!

] You NEED to make sure you plan ahead for these kinds of eventualities! Consider every egg fertilized by Mr. Suede as your insurance policy and hatch ever single one you can lay your hands on. Remember....some of his girls are defective and you just can't take those kinds of chances of fertility with those silly women!

I'm sorry to hear that Robin lost Traveler. What happened? He was such a pretty little dude, if I'm thinking of the right boy.

Kathy, the little pullets are the sweetest tiny things on the planet. They are amazing little pets, especially Penny the Pocket Pet. Aimee is more of a pest than pet and Carly is so tiny, she almost looks like a wild bird rather than a chicken. The cockerels are opposite the pullets. Angus, bottom of the pecking order, is quite sweet-he will let me rub his chest, never bites, certainly never flogs. Aubrey will flog and bite, if you try to catch him, otherwise, he leaves you alone. Rufus is alpha and can't decide if he's a menace or a Little Love, so he alternates. Rusty is a snot extraordinaire, 24/7, except on the rarest of occasions when he freezes if you stroke his chest on the roost, but mostly, he threatens to peck your face off. So, yes, I do like these. No feathered legs, no single combs to freeze, chunky little goofballs.

The D'Anvers are much smaller than Silkies. They're actually normal, too.

Amy, I don't plan to breed anymore Orps after the Suedenator passes on. He broke the mold so I really don't need to hatch eggs from them. Traveler was HUGE and Robin loved that boy, but he was one of the last to be lost to a family of raccoons. She was heartbroken, thought she had the problem solved when they got him. I'd like to get her more of Suede and Meg's kids if I can, but was really waiting for a broody hen.

Scott, thanks! Yes, that is in the back of my mind, that I can get eggs from you in the future if I need them . I appreciate it!
