Moved my family from the city to a bit of land last year. New to a lot of this but diving in.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We did one round of meat birds in a mobile chicken tractor this spring. Will probably do that again after our hens graduate from the tractor to a permanent coop (i.e., when I build it)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
15 about 4 months old and 15 about one month old.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Buff Orpington, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Jersey Giant, Rhode Island Red
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
My family eats a lot of eggs!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Bunch of kids 1-14yo. New to rural living.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
