I promised the guy if I ever did sell it that it would go int another hatchaholics hands...something tells me I'll never sell it though LOL

HappyHatch'en :

Your incubator was made by the Leahy Manufacturing Company, Higginsville, Mo. These where made out of redwood. If you go to Legg Pea Cock farms, he has an operating manual you can copy on his web site. I own a Model 1200....these where considered the Cadillac of incubators for their times. Your unit is re-build able / restore able. Cleaned up your unit wouldn't leave my hands for under $500.

I hit on this posting looking for information about Sears Roebuck brooders . Do you have any information about these? I also have a "Belle City" incubator in need of a "burner" and information on how to use it. I have pics if you need them. You can pm me if you know of a site that can help or have information. Thanks Rancher

I have the Sears Farm Master incubator model number 228-1035 and am in search of the owners manual. Any suggestions as to where I could get one would be greatly appreciated.

I had one that used a "burner" but no instructions either. Perhaps try e-bay. I did find ads for the one I had but none with instructions. I had instructions how to put mine together as it was a kit, but nothing on how to make it work.

Hi, I just bought one of these incubators but it needed a new cord. I'm not an electrical genius. Does anyone have a wiring guide or other instructions. It is the old style farm master 228-7.
Thanks

Just picked up 228.1036, it has 6 drawers with the same push/pull turners described above. Can't wait to find enuf eggs to fill the old girl, then monitor the electric useage with my kill-a-watt meter. Its4 times as thick as the sportsman's + it's painted silver inside to reflect the heat back in. Definitely designed and built by people who took pride in their work, not some college educated kid trying to get a bonus by saving the company 12¢/ incubator.

Sears & Roebuck model 228 Controls for sale - $50 plus shipping - removed from a working incubator.

(I would have listed in the classified section, but that requires 20 posts, and this is my first...)

I too have a 228 sears incubator. Just bought it for a hundred bucks. So far I can not seem to get the humidity up. Stay at about 10%. Any ideas?

I am using a 250 watt infrared bulb for heat. works just about right. Mine has a bucket of water that sets on top of the incubator and a hose that leds down to the water tub. Tub has a float for releasing water.

Doing Emu eggs now but this spring I will be cranking out lots of chicken eggs.

Please let me know what you have learned and I will do the same, could not find an owner manual for this but I live in rural Texas with a bunch of old timer around so I bet I run into one and get info.

My cell is 325-514-1927. If you want to send a pic or want one of mine I will gladly send one to you.

Mike and Carol Hawley Texas.
