Hello! I have a pair of geese, the female is true white with blue eyes with lots of curls, even on the breast. The male is just slightly grey with brown eyes and less curly. I hatched them from eggs and raised them, the female was dark at birth and the male light.
They had their first babies last year, they ended up being two dark grey geese, one curly breasted and the other no. They were dark at birth, so I assumed they were female.
They have had their second nest, I had two light colored babies and one dark. The light colored ones are just slightly grey and very curly, look like mom. The dark baby is dark grey with a white butt and smooth chested. Its time to sell them.
I have heard that autosexing doesn't work with colored sebastopol geese. Is this true? What have I got here? Any help would be appreciated. This photo is the most recent hatch as babies.
