I would like to buy a pair of sebastopol geese ,or maybe just 1 (Male or female?) To be brought up with silkie chicks (all the same age ).what should I do? Will they or he or she help protect the silkie chickens..I also have right now 2 frizzle silkie roosters..will they all get along? My roos r just 5 months old..they r all I have so far..

I had that great idea too until I got my goslings. They would be like a trio of Godzilla if I put them with my chicks. I'm not far enough along to say if my girl goslings will get along with the chickens when they are a bit older.

Lone geese don't to well at all. Goslings can be raised with chicks for first week or so then they need to be separated as goslings will chew on chicks non stop. Geese aren't protectors/guardians they are alarms at best. They can fight of a rat or the neighbors cat but any larger predator they don't stand a chance. Sorry to burst your bubble but facts are facts.
