Sebastopol pictorial - newborn to feathered out

Quote:
I keep looking at thes photo Vicky. She is so perfectly feathered.

I wanted to comment to the people getting into sebastopols that there are not many geese of this quality..... but it is something we breeders strive for.

Thanks Kat.
Soufflé does look nice at this stage but she tends to blow her longer feathers faster than I like and the quilting isn't as high on the neck as it should be.
Type wise she's just average.
Her mate Meringue is my senior gander that really holds on to his fluff.
I haven't kept enough of their offspring to know how well they click.
I only have 2 of their daughters.

Here's a pic of Meringue.
I call this the "goose ottoman" picture.

You can see he has a few stiff primaries since he has
twisted wing tip (not angel wing) but a long time, very knowledgeable Seb breeder told me after visting me and seeing my Sebs in person to keep him and use
him for breeding due to his unusually long and profuse breast feathering.

This is my Audrey Overton goose "Treasure"
This shows how the quilting should go up on the neck.
Audrey has done a great job of breeding this trait into her Sebs.
Over all this is my best goose.
She's bred to Meringue for 2009 plus I have a Meringue x Treasure daughter "Ivy" that will be bred back to Meringue for 09 too.
Ivy is almost a replica of her mother.
I have no more openings available on my waiting list for these breedings so I'm not trying to sell anything here.

I hope this has been helpful to all the newbie Sebbie fans around here.
Please everybody, feel free to post any questions or add your photos or advise to the topic.

Jennifer I PM'ed you.

The "quilting adds such an interesting dimension, and I wonder if it means her offspring have a great chance of being totally curled. Keep records please!
