Hello, I have am gold rooster and I must ask, is aggression to their handlers common with them? :/ he is SQ but I don't want to hatch out any of his chick due to his habit now of attacking me when feeding comes, or if I stand by the pen. He has with him three fluff balls and Sebright hen, who is also SQ.

Sadly I cannot post pictures at the time.

And yes, I am looking for a replacement rooster this spring and another hen.

Sometimes it is just a "breeding season thing" and goes away once they are done with hens and chicks to protect. Especially when they are in the pen with him. But even so, sometimes it is just the time of year, and goes away when that passes. Have you had them very long? How many years?

I have owned these birds for about 6 months. We have no chicks and the hens are not really laying (minus my one blue silkies who I was hoping to be a rooster)

I just got Sebright this year but own chickens for about 4 years.

I'm looking for Sebright, either eggs to hatch or chicks.
I did the hatchery chicks and it didn't go well, so now I'm looking at other options.
I'd appreciate the help!

I've been reading this thread and Silseb I would LOVE to have some of your birds!! I have a pair that I bought at a show back in September and I have yet to see the hen lay. Sigh. I would really love to hatch some chicks. I have a silkie that has yet to lay an egg also and she is over a year old. Darn girls!
Here is my pair...inside due to a severe cold spell we had a few days ago. The cockerel is my favorite, he's a hoot.

Such lovely little birds. Look at that guy! He just oozes attitude doesn't he? ^_^ They are such a big chicken in a small package.

Thanks. He really does ooze attitude! And he's sweet. I haven't seen him breed my hen though. I know he is young, maybe he just hasn't matured yet. He only weighs fifteen ounces!
