sebright thread

Thank you so much! I just found a feed store in brown that can order them I for me! Unfortunately I cannot choose the colors but rather they just order a bunch and I could get either if then. But i will go on and give those two places a look!
Great! I hope you get what you want! They are a beautiful bird. My Silver-Laced Sebrights are 9 days old today and they are already getting quit the character. My husband ordered BB Red Old English Bantams, they appear to be a little smaller right now. You will have to post some pictures when you get your Chickens!

Thats exactly what I wanted! We really wanted both so this works out for us! And that's awesome!! Good luck with your chicks!

I don't see how I'd be able to to get sexed chickes, so I'm thinking I'm going to have to either for from a feed store (which I hear is bad if you want to show your chickens like I want to) or just get them a little older. If anyone can recommend good Northern Californian feed stores or knows where I can get 3 or 4 week old chickens, I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm on the other side of the country so I can't help you with where to buy locally. But feed stores order their chicks through the on line hatcheries. You'll get the same quality from a feed store as you will by ordering online yourself.

Why not look around for some local breeders and go from there? I'm sure there's a Facebook page for your area. That's what I'd do anyway. Or maybe go to the local fairs and shows and start talking to the people showing chickens. Even the ones not specifically showing sebrights may know some people.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to BYC. I am wondering if the Sebright boys are as noisy as roosters of other breeds? I am guessing so, but thought I would ask those in the know :) I have two silver Sebright girls (sharing a coop with two Isa Browns and one Pitt Game) who I would love to breed, but I live in an area where you can't own roosters.

Thanks :)

I've tried going to vaious shows and fairs, and many people say they ordered their chickens online in large quantiities. I will try a couple of local feed stroes (I'm about ten minutes from a rural area packed to the brim with feed stores XD) although I'm sure if they will have Sebrights, Dutch, Japanese or Old English Gae Bantams, which are my favorite breeds. I do have a (possible) breeder lined up for OEDG Bantams, so hopefully I won't need to order them from a feed store. Does anyone know some feed stores near the Bay Area in California? Thank you all so much for your help, this forum is very useful!

Hello! I am new to bantam breeds. I recently acquired a Serama rooster, but he only 14 weeks old, and too small to live with the big flock. He needs some friends, so I'm considering a Sebright hen. Has anyone had luck with this combination? Thanks!

We are in southern Oregon, if you are looking for show sebrights. I have various ages and may be able help you, just tell me what are looking for.

My husband and I are the new proud owner's of Silver Laced Sebrights and BB Red Old English Game Bantams. We ordered 15 chicks from Murray McMurray, we only lost one. They are now a week old today. We live in Arkansas - so a few days were challenging dealing with the heat, a lot of monitoring. Here are a few of our pictures. I absolutely love taking pictures of animals and chickens are no exception! I would be glad to hear any tips or advice from anyone that has already raised this type of breed.
excellent photos!
