sebright thread

Spurs are never a good indication of sex, as much as people like to think they are. At 4 weeks, chest bumping is normal. They are figuring out the pecking order and not necessarily a rooster-only behavior.

Glad I found this thread. We got a Golden Sebright hen through a mix of bantams from a hatchery. She was the lone survivor of a dog attack. We just really like her and her attitude... The kids named her Lacy..

We just recently bought a pair of Golden Sebrights that are better quality, the rooster above is part of that pair, and we are planning to breed some of them. We're planning to get a few more breeding soon..

This is my Sebright chicks. do you think it's a cock or a pullet? He or she has around 8 weeks.

My name is Lacet

Thanks

Agreed. A roo would have a leader showing by that development stage. If mine are any indicators, it would also be crowing, by now, and the whole thing would be obvious. hahaha!

I have a golden sebright...just curious about his/her gender.

It is roughly 5-5 1/2 weeks old...We purchased it from a local farm store so that is a guess.
