Sebs are hatching!- Another hatcher, #3 has pipped

Did you peel back that shell? They can take 2 days after pipping to actually hatch. That looks pretty bloody and I would be worried about an infection starting.

I did. But the rest of the hatch was him/her.

I took this egg from the goose and duck sitting on the nest... only because they were ripping the egg open on this poor guy.

I currently have another hatcher... another seb. That egg is with momma duck and mamma goose... I'm observing how they are to the egg. Making sure they dont rip the egg open.


They seb that hatched is all dry and in the brooder.

Well I have bad news. The one that was hatching this morning in the nest with his mama was pushed out by his mama and he died. By the time we got to it he was dead. She also pushed a duck egg out...
