**~~>>Second Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatchathon<<~~**all poultry welcome!

I've been having computer problems for a while now and haven't been online much. Well, I figured out what was wrong and when you see the end result you will laugh. At least, I did!

Now I can post pics of my cute fuzzies. ETA: This is the charger port to my mom's laptop.
Thumbs up from a sister geek. get some heat shrink tubing to seal it up and you'll be golden.

Who wants broodies? I came home yesterday to 4 new broodies, so now have 6. I decided to try to break the first two bu tossing them in the Juvie Pen. They are hogging the favorite nesting spots and eggs keep getting broken in the fighting :( I think it will work on one but the other found a spot and is hissing and spitting if anyone comes near. I guess I'll giver her a basket and some eggs. Maybe she can raise hatch the tutors for me.

I read somewhere if you dunk the broodies into an ice bath briefly, you may be able to break em.

I have a lavender Am who is similar to your Dolly. She doesn't follow me around all day but she does insist on checking out the horse feed buckets. She taught Lil Lurkey to check them out too. I started soaking their food one evening and made the mistake of going to refil the chicken waters. When I came back, there is Curious and Lil perched on the side of the wagon happily helping themselves to the horse food. I put a towel on top of the wagon now if they are out freeranging.

The chooks are right up against the horse stall. I give my chooks carrots & grass everyday & the horses all come to the chooks pen to get some carrots & grass thru the fence. Then there's this one horse who can't keep his head out of my bucket. He is hardly ever in a stall & almost broke my basket of eggs last week trying to get a snack. These horses are more like overgrown puppies with the way they follow you around and play! The chickens would follow me if I let them out, but waaaayyyy too many predators here. They somehow know when I have cheese in my packet tho. They actually jump me for it. A couple have actually stolen the bag & run with it! Then they play keep away. I go to catch the thief & she hands it off to another, faster bird! It's hilarious.

Quote: Contrastphoto, I Googled gold laced Brahma and that picture came up. I tried to attribute where it came from (Dan Powell's birds is what came up as ID for the photo) but it didn't have any other names associated with it. No one is using the picture to sell eggs as far as I know. I apologize if using the pictures offended you.
Quote: I have to keep my horses and chickens separated if the horses are in their pens or stalls. My two youngest horses will kill a chicken if it gets within "hoof shot" of them. If I am going to let the birds free range I have to let the horses out first and then the birds. Once the horses are in turnout, they pretty much ignore the birds but if they do chase them the birds can get away by ducking under the fence. My birds won't eat the carrots but they love apples. They get their own apples mixed into their treats every day. I don't think it would go over well if the birds tried to steal apples out of the feeders for the horses.

can you get to Kentucky? I will give you some. Mixed breed heritage, but bartorers can't be choosers :).

I wish I could(Hi Wisher!). I do not know where the Farmer I am hatching for gets his eggs but they have all been fertile so far...The Guinea and Turkey eggs were all jumbled up in a large food storage container and it looks like all but two will be hatching...out of 31 eggs.

Even the mallad eggs from the goat pasture are fertile....
