Can't wait to get home and see how the broody is doing. This AM when I got up a leghorn had gotten into the nest with her and was laying an egg... guess they all want in on the action, I grabbed the egg, pushed her out and she did her little tantrum of an egg song. I imagine there will be at LEAST six more eggs that don't belong when I get home today.

I think if I were ever to get a big bator, I'd get the Brinsea Ova Easy.
I have to have things EASY.

Should be interesting to see if my broody knocks out the eggs that have the 3 detatched air cells. So my best hope is for one or two naked necks!!! MAY 6th. In the evening.

I've never been egg-bombed by a BYCer... but I have been egg-bombed with a few rotten eggs in my day

That's the main reason I refuse to use the big bators.. I know how my luck runs (Mr Murphy loves me).. and if i had all those eggs in one bator.. it would be the one to go stupid on me in the middle of the night and I would lose everything...
a bunch of small bators may be a bit of a hassle for everyone else.. but I'll stick with them.. I keep hearing my grandmother in my head and the old saying about not putting all your eggs in one basket

You sound like me, but I'm still looking for a cabinet. I've had such bad luck with keeping temps in my bators stable here lately that I need something easier to regulate that handles exterior temp swings better. I'll still scatter a few eggs between my styro bators from each batch so Murphy doesn't get them all if he arrives.

Ugh. I'm over flowing with eggs, don't have enough incubator space or enough broodys!! What am I to do?!?!

I've been egg bombed twice... once for this hatch a long.

The other time is was a really, really nice gift by The Sheriff! She is an angel and her husband is one lucky / blessed man!
