Second batch of chicks will NOT learn how to coop up. UGH

Different sets definitely have different habits. I had one set that instead of returning to their pen or making a pile would scatter when it got dark. We actually trained out dogs to find the chicks before we trained those chicks to coop up. Glad most were not like that.
What about the new tractor makes it so it wouldn't be good for chicks? Why not train them to it now instead of having to retrain later?

I just thought it was too big for them??

But I guess you're right, it might be ok just to plop them in there. 🤔

I put them in there today, this is them -- the littles compared to the bigs.

They do love it -- but tonight has been interesting. I put them up in the coop, but it's just part of the run, they can run down to the run... and some of them did - and some stayed in the coop. They are yelling to holy heaven.

But I'm just gonna let them figure it out. The coop/run is wrapped up tight, floor completely covered too. We also just don't have that much predator pressure. The raccoons I've seen on my cameras, wandering around my house, don't give two figs for the coops that have been out for weeks and weeks. Completely bypass them.

We DO have those little eyes on the coops. Everyone says they suck, but... like I said, raccoons seem to completely ignore the coops.
