second egg gitters?

Her first egg was yesterday and it was the exact same size as one of them yellow wax potatos. about half the size of a normal egg. thats why i think maybe today its a larger egg that is too big for her.

yes she is acting like the chicken in that picture but her tail is down. it looks like she is depressed if chickens can be depressed shes hit the mark

well its going on 4 hours and she is back up in the nest trying again. but this time shes really screeching loud. not like you normaly hear but this is like she sounds like someone is bashing in her head. its the most aweful sound i ever heard before. I hope she is ok. the other ones are loud but this is like them on steroids that are on steroids on steroids.

YAY! finally she layed the egg. and its so small. it is the smallest one yet is abount the size of a california roll sushi.. its so adorable, but why would she struggle with such a small egg?

it is hard. The feed i give them is 16% protien has oyster shell and I also give them egg shells on the side and scrambled eggs every 4 or 5 days, watermellon on hot days as a treat(they devour it) corn on the cob (their favorite) rarely give them treats. I also was giving them too much scratch witch a week ago i lowered it alot. i was told 1 handfull per chicken was way too much. now i give them about a plastic egg filled betwen all 3 of my chickens. they are very well fed. that isnt an issue. they are getting good calcium from the egg shells and the layer feed i give them.

v I know what you meant, that maybe i wasnt feeding them the right feed. and i was feeding them the wrong feed for the first 2 weeks i had them. then on here someone told me they sholuldnt get layer feed till they started laying. <3

My black sex link still takes hours to lay her egg. She sits in the nesting box for up to three hours sometimes. It is kind of funny because now that two others are laying, they stand and watch her impatiently. Lol. Today, the buff orpington finally gave up and used another nesting box.
