Our Easter Eggers are about 19 weeks old now and we found our first egg a few days ago! It literally felt like Christmas morning! My question relates to the frequency of egg production and how long it takes them to lay regularly. Our first egg was laid on Sunday evening and it is now Thursday morning... And we've had no further "presents!" This is our first flock so I am not sure what to expect... I know that there is no magic answer, but does anybody have an idea as to how long between first and second eggs?!

It seems to vary, but my EE started laying on the 22nd. She laid that one off the roost so we didn't get the joy of finding her first egg. She laid the next two days in the nest box with the big girls. We'll see if she gives us one today. I think my other girls took a few weeks to get into a more predictable pattern.

I've only had chickens for a bit over a year, and I'm still excited to check the nest every day.
