Second Hatch, this time I will actually TRY to do things right.

Upon candling the eggs today , all seem to be alive some are moving faster than the other especially one eggs I thought I Lost him but it moved very slightly. The air sacs look superb. Do you know whether they will hatch later as the temperature has not been constant in there first 8 days. Kept moving between 37. 3 to 37.8

I think it is believed that the lower the temperature the longer the hatch the higher the temp the quicker the hatch. Higher temperatures are also considered more deadly and dangerous.

I think I m thinking a bit far ahead but I was wanting to be prepared for the chick is I get any. I wanted to make a brooder for them. A lady who breed chicken she made one in a fish tank. I have a small rectangular shaped tank . Can I use this to have a red infrared light to make a brooder? Or any other suggestions on how I can make a cheap incubator at home rather than having expensive electric hen .

hi ,
i am so glad that i had 100% success rate in hatching but out of 9 6 were mispositioned and they needed assistant in hatching them . So far all of them are looking fine and happy in their brooder.
