Second try at hatching quails! (This time I'm sharing the whole experience with you!)

But yeah the thing I'm most worried about is chicks getting shrink wrapped inside the eggs,I think I'll leave them in until they are fluffy and dry, like a day or so
From what I've read quail need to eat pretty soon, not like the 3 days chickens can go.
Just grab em out fast!

A day is too long...they may die if they don't get water and good before then. Like Aarti says get them out asap...and hour or three is ok but not 24.
Don't worry about opening the bator for 5 seconds to take them out.

Alrighty, will do. I'll post another update as soon as someone starts coming out!

as of right now, still no eggs rocking or moving at all going on, humidity is stable and i'm guessing i'll see them do something tomorrow hopefully which is day 16 if you count from 0 or 17 if you count from 1

nvm, 4 have officially pipped! i am so excited, hopefully by tomorrow morning ill get to see them running around in the bator ahhahah, humidity also went up by 2% which tells me something is going on in there :)

Just got word from my dad, one is out! I'll leave him in till the morning I think ( rn it's 10pm) since there are many pipping and I don't want to disturb them ahah

Awesome! Congratulations... Leaving him till morning will be fine.

Thanks! Here's a pic of the little one, it wasn't even one of the eggs that had pips! Ahahaha, plus he was really spot on, exactly 17 days from when they were put in( same hour even!) I have now a second one who seems to be pretty active ( maybe entering the unzip phase?) I'll update tomorrow morning when I wake up.
