Seedlings.... anyone start yet?

We are still setting up the garden space, but I built my 8 x 10 greenhouse in October so I was able to start some seeds this month.

So far I have started: lettuce, kale, lots and lots of spinach, broccoli and chard. Just cool season veggies. I am going to put in peas once I have my space set up in a couple of weeks.

In late March I can start: tomatoes, zucchini, cukes, watermelon, runner beans, pumpkins, new zealand spinach, more lettuce, and whatever strikes my fancy at the time.

When looking at greenhouse plans, I considered going with a bigger pvc style. But, the wood plans that I found seemed pretty simple, and more permanent. For all supplies (including the greenhouse film), it cost a bit over $200. The greenhouse film is supposed to last for 4 years, and when I need to replace it I will go with the more expensive panels. Here is a picture of it almost done:

It has shelves lining both sides and the back, so quite a bit of growing room in it. The plans were free online.

Lots! I can't help it! Buckles Hardware in Monroe had all this super cheap bulk seed of the proven local varieties....What on earth do I do with too many broccoli seedlings? I've potted up two dozen, and most of the flat is still full - oops.

AngieChick, please post a link to the plans site? Although I just scored a bunch of glass storm window panels (free) to make cold frames...and then there's Boyd's pvc clamp systems....

I want it ALL
I had to start an excel spreadsheet to keep track of all the seeds I have leftover, saved, bought, ordered...

Got a jump start on our orchard - the really nice nursery went bust and is selling everything. Sad! But I spent my tax return on 30 blueberry bushes $5/1 gal, 10 fruit dwarf apple and plum for under $15 each, an indulgence in flowering shrubs, various lumber and shelves . . . It's all choice stock, area best varieties. Now as soon as the ground dries enough, we (ok me) will be digging and tilling all day and into the nights with work lights just to get it all done.

In addition to the multiple seed varieties saved, leftover and gifted, I went and ordered a bucket load of just tomato and pepper seeds. Sticking to very resistant hybrids - total disease mess last year. Not buying plants from the company that supplies all the retail around here - they spread a very bad virus last year, a quiet scandal and now my garden is contaminated!
Also have a sack of white clover seed to plant in the "orchard" around all these trees. Am looking into a bought truck load of mushroom compost. We are opening up lots of new ground, and the original subsoil clay is all some areas have.

as soon as the second group of shop lights get installed, I'll be seeding several flats of peppers and tomatoes. I have quite enough started already, but this is the new seed...

At the farmers market and plant sales here they go for $3 a plant. Put up a craigslist ad or info sheet in town.
