Seeking advice for improved winter watering

I haven't seen any evidence of critters (Wyze Cam or otherwise). I think the heater base running constantly is the cause of the disappearing water, plus my chickens seem to enjoy a warm drink when it's cold.

I tired unplugging the heater at night and adding a boiling a cup of water in the morning to melt the top layer of ice while it warms up again. This worked great & the water is lasting much longer now. Problem solved
