seem to Avatar Arrrgh!!!

Is it even possible to get a picture that small?? I cannot seem to lower the resolution on my pic enough , yet I can upload a regular pic and it will resize itself....
What on earth am I doing wrong??

There are about 15,000 members with avatars, so it really is possible.

Save it as a gif. That has worked for me 100% of the time.
