Seizing duckling?!?

Sound's like a good set up:)

I've read 1 tablespoon to 1 cup of food. I think that's what Miss Lydia recommends.

ok perfect! I will do that! I'll give it a few days of eating the brewers yeast and drinking the water with the electrolytes and vitamins in it before I try handling them again to see if there's any improvement. Also, per the recommendation of several duck people over my way I will be switching them to Purina flock raiser feed. :)

dont mean to hijack but would poly vi sol without iron into the water work? oly vi sol has 8 mg of niacin per dropper full. i cannot get plain niacin tablets or brewer yeast here..i would have to order it online which i will do if i need to but i dont want to if i dont have to

no i was just wanting to know if the polyvisol would be an ok niacin source for ducklings. will need to order stuff online then if polyvisol wouldn't be the best source

Purina FR is a great feed source for ducklings actually all poultry, I use it from hatch through adult.

Hi all,
I am having the shaky leg problem in my bigger Campbell duckling. I only have two. They are 3 weeks old. I was wondering, if I order the mazuri waterfowl starter is that all they need then? No supplements to add or mix?
I can't believe how attached we are here already to these little ones. I want to give them the best care I can.

Thank you!

They steal your heart, that's for sure!

Mazuri says that their waterfowl starter has all of the vitamins they need. I would suggest supplementing them for a week or two even with the feed just to give them a boost. Last night I was doing some research and found that Poultry Nutri-Drench has all of the extra vitamins, and can be added to their water. I ordered a 4oz. bottle off of amazon because I can't find it locally. You could also try polyvisol without iron. The best way to give it with older ducklings is add the drops to a small piece of bread and feed it as a treat.
