Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

Yep.

Our lavenders moult in the fall all the way through to the spring.

Our blacks moult in the spring through the summer.

We are thinking of showing next year... I guess we'll be showing the blacks in the fall and the lavenders in the spring!

I ordered 25 from Ideal and they didn't hatch any so I didn't get them

Hey ChickieBooBoo, I received an email from Ideal that they can ship Self Blue on May 25. I am going away so I cannot get them. You should give Ideal a call and see if you can get some.

well in the order was 8 Lav I picked out the darkest chicks my aunt got 4 and i got 4. We ordered blue chicks and they sent blue and splash I got 3 blue and picked 3 of the lighter colored chicks thinking they were splash.

OMGosh I think I am going to faint. I have been working so hard on these PI and lav babies and finally have an awesome hatch taking place. it is hard to tell since I have yet to open the lid but it looks like a bunch of PI and lavs all with super dark skin and most with vaulted sculls and almost every egg that hasnt hatched is pipped. humidity is perfect so its in Gods hands now....

The last roo i was using with my bufflav splits was not yeilding almost any PI but I sold him and put in 2 f3 generation lav roos and I think I finally hit the nail on the head. and all my full lav ladies are with my blacklav split whom is really nice and finally they are fertile and hatching

Oh I hope I am right.... I will take pics tomorrow after I open up either way

it is very hard to say with pics at that age as the light changes the color. They could be lavs or splash only time will tell for sure. They feather out pretty quick so you will have a good idea by the time they are 4-5 weeks old. also I have some lavs hatch out more yellow and others that look more silver but all are lav when they feather in
