Hi we have 5 little lavs chicks here at the ranch...so cute i have a lav roo with 2 splits and a lav hen she lays like crazy...they did it all on their own 3 are very light and 2 are darker in shade but none are black splits....mom has a pink not mulberry comb and the dad has a bigger mulberry comb but the splits are gorgeous....just happy to have a few chicks as everyone has been telling me how bad they are to reproduce....one of the babies was sitting up on mom it was too cute...still trying to fnd that one elusive SQ/BQ pullet...

The price the eggs would go for can really vary depending on quality, time of year, who is bidding, etc. Also, if you only have a pair, people may not want a full dozen since half of the eggs would be over a week old before they even ship. The older the eggs get, the less viable they are, and lav eggs are hard enough to hatch, especially after shipping.

As for colors here is the chart I have on my website:
Lav X Lav = 100% Lav
Lav X Split = 50% Lav, 50% Splits
Split X Split = 50% Splits, 25% Lavs, 25% Blacks
Lav X Black = 100% Splits
Split X Black - 100% Blacks

As far as fertility goes, I usually breed splits to lavs, not only to improve type by breeding back to good blacks, but I also find that it improves fertility and hatch rates. I have not done many lav x lav breedings, so I can not say if it washes them out, I have heard from some people it can, I have also heard from some it causes more/less barring on the roos hackle feathers. It may also depend on the actual birds themselves. I would try and see what you get.

I breed for type first, and I do not think my lavenders are ready to just breed lav to lav. I go by the old saying "build the barn before you paint it" so I am more focused on type than color. My main issue with type is combs. I am still seeing points on combs, especially on the boys. Also, a lot of people seem to be having wing issues, especially split, and loose wings.

I would love to see pics of your lavenders!
