Great to have a lavender fan near by. :) They both look like they have nice even color. Your boys wings look nice and tight. They do look immature for their age. My lavs have been slow to mature also. Pretty common for boys but not so common for girls. The angles of your girls photos don't tell me quite enough about her type. She has a lovely tail in that last shot. Does she have redish comb or is that just the lighting?
I love her foot feathering!!

Hello,
I am looking for show quality Lavender Silkies. I want nice birds to use as a foundation for my lavender flock. If started birds are not available, I will consider buying eggs. I am located in Kentucky and would like to come pick the birds up in person, I would prefer not to ship. If you have any available, or know anyone who breeds these please let me know.
Thanks

So peepblessed thanks for looking at my lavs, is twin oaks near fresno if so were not very far at all. My hen doesnt have any reddish coloring, but like you said she still seems so slow to mature. What other colors are you specializing in? Im really wanting to get a high quality flock of lav/porcelian and paint. I currently have two extremely broody giant cochin hens on 20 catdance eggs a mix of lav/porcelian. It is day 8, I plan on candling tomorrow hope I have some luck, hatching is always exciting.

We live in the mountains an hour east of Bakersfield. I got all my lav and porcelain from Catdance. I have been very happy with the eggs I get from her. Hope you have a great hatch. Here's a photo of my little lav pullet. I just took this a few days ago and she is already getting typier and fuller. She is 4 months. They change so much at this age. I mostly have BBS. Just starting with the lavs.

I think (not positive) that George Mihalik ships to VA. ? He has excellent silkies. Also he may know who in VA has them. :)
George sold out several years ago; however, he may know breeders. Best bet with the import rules is to GO elsewhere, purchase and take the birds back, being sure to get whatever health certificates, testing, etc. is needed.

Most breeders are unwlling to go through all the extra hoopla--it is a hobby, not a business--and purchasers tend to be unwilling to pay the extra costs for the inconvenience and expense of extra testing, health certificates, etc. Might consider petitioning your legislature to repeal all that extra stuff.

Here's a beautiful self blue chick from Bobbi Porto stock (I got them from emvickrey who got them right from Bobbi) that greeted me yesterday. So cute!!!

I love that it is basically the same color as the hatching tray it was in!
